Overview
The R&S® RT-ZP passive probes are the all-rounders for general purpose oscilloscope work, spanning 38 MHz to 700 MHz and everything from routine circuit debugging to high-voltage measurement in the field. The series offers 1:1, 10:1, 25:1 and 100:1 attenuation ratios and safety categories from CAT 0 to CAT IV, reaching up to 3540 V RMS where the electrical environment demands it. Each model is matched to the mainstream Rohde & Schwarz oscilloscope platforms — RTO2000, MXO 3/4/5, RTH and others — and the broad RT-ZA accessory range makes contact at almost any test point, which is what shortens design verification and fault-finding in practice.
Key features
- Bandwidth up to 700 MHz (RT-ZP11 and RT-ZPMMCX) for high-speed digital and RF circuits
- A choice of attenuation ratios (1:1, 10:1, 25:1, 100:1) covering low-voltage signals through to very high voltages
- Safety categories CAT 0 to CAT IV and up to 3540 V RMS, to meet strict site safety requirements
- The RT-ZP11 carries a 0.5 mm gold-plated spring tip for steady mechanical contact and low contact resistance
- The RT-ZPMMCX uses an MMCX connection, designed for the compact MXO 4 and MXO 5 oscilloscopes
- The RT-ZP10 is pre-compensated at the factory for the best frequency response on the RTO2000 / RTE1000 platform
- The RT-ZI10 / RT-ZI11 are isolated passive probes, available in two- and four-probe bundles for multichannel work
- A broad RT-ZA accessory range (spring clips, micro clips, lead sets, PCB adapters) reaches any test point
- The RT-ZI10C and RT-ZI11 are designed for the RTH handheld oscilloscopes, for measurement in the field
Typical applications
- Board design verification and functional debugging (digital timing, analog signal integrity)
- Power supply and power electronics design (high-voltage switching nodes, motor drive circuits)
- Field service and preventive maintenance on industrial equipment (high-voltage CAT IV environments)
- Embedded development and MCU/FPGA interface analysis
- RF and high-speed digital prototype verification (where 500 MHz to 700 MHz probe bandwidth is needed)
- Teaching and general laboratory measurement (cost-effective entry-level passive probes)
