Product overview
The R&S®ESCU enhanced signal conditioning unit is a high-performance preamplifier built specifically for EMI test systems, in two frequency families: the ESCU08 from 0.1 to 8 GHz and the ESCU18 from 1 to 18 GHz. Each family comes in a high-accuracy ±2 dB flatness version and a standard ±3 dB version, with gain up to 41 dB and a noise figure of typically 3.5 dB for the ESCU08 and 4.5 dB for the ESCU18, at a maximum input level of +15 dBm. Sitting between the EMI antenna and the receiver as a signal conditioning stage, the ESCU raises the sensitivity of the whole test system and pushes the receiver noise floor down, so weak radiated interference can still be measured accurately. Used with an R&S®ESW or ESR EMI test receiver it completes a high-sensitivity EMC measurement chain.
