Product overview
The R&S®CMPHEAD (main model: CMPHEAD30) is a discontinued mmWave remote radio head (RRH) designed for non-signaling 5G NR FR2 millimeterwave OTA measurements, and one of the core components of the R&S®CMPQ system solution. It uses a split concept: the R&S®CMP200 radio communication tester handles the IF from 6 GHz to 20 GHz while the CMPHEAD30 performs the IF to mmWave up- and downconversion close to the antenna, covering the 5G FR2 bands from 24.25 GHz to 31.80 GHz and from 37.00 GHz to 43.50 GHz, including 28 GHz and 39 GHz. Up to three CMPHEAD30 units can be attached to one CMP200, controlling six RF paths in total for beamforming and power measurements. The product has been discontinued; its successor is the R&S®CMPHEAD50, which extends the frequency range to 21.84 GHz to 50.20 GHz and adds a low-noise RX port, dual LO and EVM booster ports. New systems should use the CMPHEAD50 or the CMXHEAD50 instead.
