Product overview
The R&S®NRPxxP are wideband peak and pulse power sensors covering 50 MHz to 50 GHz, with up to 30 MHz video bandwidth and a rise time below 13 ns — enough to reconstruct the envelope power of a radar pulse. An 80 Msample/s sampling rate and automatic pulse analysis suit them to radar pulse measurements and to peak and envelope power analysis on 5G bursts and WLAN modulated signals. They connect straight to a PC over USB, so high-accuracy pulse measurements need no dedicated base unit.
Key features
- Three models cover 50 MHz to 18, 40 or 50 GHz
- Video bandwidth up to 30 MHz, enough to reconstruct radar pulse envelope power
- Rise time < 13 ns, measuring pulses as short as 50 ns
- 80 Msample/s sampling rate, for 12.5 ns time resolution
- Automatic pulse analysis measures 15 pulse parameters at once — rise and fall time, pulse width, duty cycle and more
- Peak power, average power, gated peak power and peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) measurements
- Statistical analysis with CCDF, CDF and PDF: a million samples in 25 ms
- USB TMC interface, operated straight from a PC with no base unit
Typical applications
- Radar pulse power and envelope measurements
- Power analysis of 5G NR burst signals
- Peak power measurements on WLAN and wideband modulated signals
- Production test of aerospace and defense RF components
