Product overview
The R&S®SZU100A is a discontinued millimeterwave I/Q upconverter built to work with the R&S®SMW200A vector signal generator, extending its vector modulation into the 60 GHz millimeterwave band (58.32 GHz to 64.80 GHz). It offers 2 GHz of RF modulation bandwidth, more than 80 dB of dynamic range (−80 dBm to +5 dBm PEP) and full factory calibration, which removes the external frequency response correction step and keeps the workflow to set up and measure. A WR15 waveguide connector lets the unit sit right next to the DUT to cut cable loss. The R&S®SZU100A connects over USB and is controlled entirely by the R&S®SMW200A, whose user interface it is fully integrated into, so it operates like a single instrument. The model is officially discontinued; we recommend moving to the successor, the R&S®SMW200A vector signal generator, which carries a more complete millimeterwave solution.

- Dual-channel multiplexed operation with a two-path R&S®SMW200A, for beamforming and MIMO work
- The WR15 waveguide connector mounts straight onto the DUT, shortening the cable run and reducing loss and level ripple
- An integrated level detector levels the output automatically during operation, so no recalibration is needed when the signal content, the level or the frequency changes
