Product overview
The R&S®ESRP is a multi-standard EMI test receiver designed to satisfy commercial (CISPR 16-1-1), aerospace (DO-160) and military (MIL-STD-461) requirements at the same time. The ESRP3 covers 9 kHz to 3.6 GHz and the ESRP7 extends to 7 GHz, and both carry the full set of CISPR and MIL-STD compatible resolution bandwidths. The optional ESRP-B2 preselection and preamplifier noticeably improve sensitivity and measurement accuracy, while rugged housing (FSV-B1) and a battery pack (FSV-B32) give the ESRP field capability for measuring outside a shielded room. The balance it strikes between performance and cost makes it a sound choice for a mid-size EMC laboratory or an avionics test house.
Key features
- Meets CISPR 16-1-1, MIL-STD-461 and DO-160 simultaneously: one instrument from commercial to aerospace measurement
- CISPR 16-1-1 resolution bandwidths of 200 Hz, 9 kHz, 120 kHz and 1 MHz; six MIL-STD bandwidths from 10 Hz to 1 MHz
- Four built-in detectors: quasi-peak (QP), CISPR average, RMS average and peak (PK+)
- Optional ESRP-B2 preselection and RF preamplifier, for better sensitivity and selectivity
- Optional low-frequency extension down to 10 Hz (ESRP-B29), for very low frequency interference
- Rugged housing (FSV-B1) and a lithium battery pack (FSV-B32) support field and mobile measurement
- Time domain scan (K53) raises scan speed substantially and shortens the compliance test cycle
- IF analysis (K56) gives a spectrum view of the IF domain, for characterizing interference
Typical applications
- DO-160 conducted susceptibility and radiated emission measurement on avionics
- MIL-STD-461 EMI compliance testing on military platforms, CE102, RE102 and other test items
- CISPR 16-1-1 conducted interference testing of industrial and consumer electronics, in the CISPR A/B bands
- On-site EMC diagnosis, with the battery pack and rugged housing for mobile measurement
- Spectral purity assessment of satellite ground systems and radar equipment
