Product overview
The R&S®SGU100A SGMA upconverter extends the frequency range to 40 GHz. Once the R&S®SGS100A and the R&S®SGU100A are connected, the two merge into a single instrument for both remote control and manual operation. The combined instrument provides the same connectors as the R&S®SGS100A: one RF output for the entire frequency range and one analog I/Q input for vector modulation. Equipped with the R&S®SGU100A, the R&S®SGS100A covers the full range from 10 MHz to 40 GHz without modulation, and from 80 MHz to 40 GHz with vector modulation.

- Modular frequency extension with I/Q upconversion, taking I/Q modulated or pure LO signals up into the 12 GHz to 40 GHz range
- Connected to the R&S®SGS100A, the whole frequency range comes out of a single RF output and the pair is operated as one instrument

- High RF modulation bandwidth of 2 GHz; closed-loop ALC keeps level accuracy and linearity high even in I/Q modulation mode
- Optional mechanical step attenuator (R&S®SGU-B26) takes the dynamic range down to –120 dBm
- Subharmonics < –55 dBc (spec.), typ. < –65 dBc; error vector magnitude (EVM) better than 0.5% (14 GHz QPSK, 30 Msymbol/s)
- Calibration interval of up to 3 years and built-in selftest keep maintenance costs down
