Overview
The R&S®HMP2000 series is a performance linear DC power supply with two independently programmable outputs (HMP2020) or three (HMP2030) and up to 188 W of total output power. Every channel is galvanically isolated and floating, so channels can be connected in series or in parallel, and each switches automatically between constant voltage (CV) and constant current (CC). The linear design keeps ripple and noise low, and the instrument adds protection against overload and short circuit plus remote sensing for tighter accuracy — a fit for development laboratories, production test and service work.
Key features
- Two (HMP2020) or three (HMP2030) independent outputs, 188 W total
- All channels galvanically isolated and floating, free to be wired in series or in parallel to extend voltage or current
- Linear design with low noise and low ripple (<1.5 mV RMS), suited to precision circuit testing
- Fine setting resolution: 1 mV voltage / 0.1 mA current
- 240 × 64 pixel LCD display shows the CV/CC state clearly for at-a-glance operation
- Remote sensing compensates for the voltage drop along long supply leads
- Protection functions to safeguard the instrument and the DUT: overload, overvoltage and short circuit
- Small, compact and quiet — at home on the bench or in a rack
- Interface modules for integration into automated test equipment (ATE)
- EasyArb arbitrary waveform and EasyRamp ramp functions
Typical applications
- Circuit design and verification in the development laboratory
- Automated production test and quality control (ATE integration)
- Electronics repair and maintenance services
- Training and undergraduate electronics laboratories
- Battery and power management IC development
- Powering embedded and IoT devices under test
- Functional verification of communications and avionics modules
